I've wanted to blog about this show much earlier but I've been too lazy to start.Code Blue: A medical drama set in Shohoku (like the basketball team in Slam Dunk) hospital known for its emergency Helicopter response team. The story centers on the struggle of the four flight doctors-in-training: Fujikawa (Asari Yosuke) , Hiyama (Toda Erika), Aizawa (Yamashita Tomohisa) and Shiraishi (Agaraki Yuki) including their work in the emergency ward, consultation, heli assignment and others.
It deals with the struggles of both the newbies and veteran doctors in the hospital with the mingling of personal tragedies and issues.
Characters:
Fujiwara- can be called the 'George' (Grey's Anatomy) of the group. He's more the optimistic, silly, always smiling character who doesn't really show much skills during the beginning of the drama but can be expected to try harder or develop later on. Can be considered the comic relief with his impeccable timing.
Aizawa- the 'Reclusive Genius' of the bunch can be dubbed the typical bishounen since he's quiet and reserved but possesses mad skills. He's also quite ambitious and arrogant. Relatively cold hearted with his patients and colleagues and focused on becoming a protege. He later shows a softer and caring side of him as the drama develops and explains his kind of personality.
Hiyama- the female Aizawa is equally ambitious and reclusive in character. She tries to be cut throat but is obviously concerned of how she is viewed by her colleagues. She usually deals with the emotional aspect of the show like having to tell patients that they are never to walk again and the like.
Shiraishi- the daughter of two medical doctors whose personality can be classified as passive. She's the type who is always soft spoken and worries about everyone. She may be the closest person to Aizawa being he recognizes her talent in sounding like a medical dictionary.
